Dr. Sawchuk is excited to join the Hypermobility Clinic, bringing over ten years of experience supporting patients through the mind-body challenges of EDS / HSD. Learn more about Psychology here.

Your first visit includes both a detailed assessment and your first treatment session with a fee of $300.

We use a behavioral autonomic assessment to measure how your nervous system is functioning in real time, specifically how your body responds to stress and recovery.

This allows us to:
  • Identify patterns of nervous system overactivation (fight/flight)
  • Understand how your symptoms are being generated and maintained
  • Create a targeted treatment plan based on your physiology
You will leave your first session with:
  • A clear explanation of your symptoms in plain language
  • Objective insights into your nervous system function
  • Your first guided treatment experience

Biofeedback-Assisted Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (bf-CBT) – $250 / session.

Treatment focuses on helping you recognize, regulate, and retrain your body’s responses.

Using biofeedback and structured therapy, you will learn how to:

  • Increase awareness of internal body signals (interoception)
  • Recognize early signs of nervous system overload
  • Regulate physiological responses in real time
  • Shift thought patterns that reinforce stress responses

Over time, this helps your system move out of chronic “high alert” and into a more stable, regulated state.

What to Expect:

Most patients benefit from a short course of 4-6 sessions, depending on symptom complexity and goals.

This is a skills-based, active treatment approach where you’ll learn practical techniques you can use outside of sessions to support ongoing recovery.

Who This May Help:

This service may be appropriate if you experience:

  • Dysautonomia (including POTS)
  • Migraine or chronic headache
  • Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
  • Persistent physical symptoms without clear structural cause
  • Chronic stress, burnout, or nervous system overload
  • Difficulty regulating physical or emotional responses
A Different Approach:

This is not just symptom management. It is a structured approach to understanding and retraining the systems that drive those symptoms, with the goal of improving stability, resilience, and day-to-day function.

  • Genetic Testing

At Hypermobility Canada, we offer genetic testing to help identify possible causes of your hypermobility symptoms. Because many hypermobility disorders share similar symptoms, it can be difficult to know exactly which test to choose. That’s why we use a comprehensive genetic test that looks at all genes in your genome. Learn more about Genetic Testing here.

  • Hypermobility genetic testing panel: $1335.99
  • Includes a 30 minute genetic counselling appointment to review the results
  • Genetic Counselling

Claire Shepherd is a board-certified and licensed genetic counsellor who is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of genetics and address common misconceptions surrounding Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and related connective tissue disorders. Learn more about Genetic Counselling here.

  • 30 minutes: $85.00
  • 60 minutes: $170.00
  • Description: During your genetic counselling appointment, your genetic counsellor will review your personal and family health history and discuss features that may be suggestive of a hereditary connective tissue disorder. Together, you will explore whether genetic testing may be appropriate, the potential benefits and limitations of testing, what different results could mean, and answer any questions you may have. This appointment is designed to help you better understand the role genetics may play in your health and make an informed decision about pursuing a hypermobility genetic testing panel.
